AMHERST - Amherst’s finances are in good shape, according to town CAO Greg Herrett.

Council approved audited statements for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2011 at a meeting Wednesday. There was a small surplus.

Amherst owes about $6.2 million, but has about $4.8 million in savings, a difference of $1.4 million.
