AMHERST – Local bikers are revving up for the annual Toys for Tots drive.
The 23rd annual motorcycle run will take place Saturday to help support families in the New Brunswick and Nova Scotia border area.
Organizers want all motorcycle enthusiasts and others to help them raise money for local charities by making a cash donation or dropping off some toys for the children.
“The cyclists all bring toys or cash donations to the event,” said Bruce Sears, one of the committee members. “We do have sponsors, corporate sponsors who help out with the event. We also have people who show up at the event who aren’t motorcyclists who make donations as well.”
The money raised for the charities goes to the Sackville Memorial Hospital, the Amherst ‘Christmas for Kids’ campaign and the Children’s Wish Foundation.
In addition to the ride, the charity will also be selling tickets for a chance to win an Air Canada vacation.
“We’re selling tickets on an Air Canada flight for two to wherever Air Canada flies including Mexico.”
