AMHERST - Pirates will be the theme of this year's Showcase Productions Summer Musical Theatre Camp in both Amherst and River Hebert.

Christine MacLeod, co-director of How To Be a Pirate, said kids love pirates.

"It's not hard to get them jazzed up for pirates," she said. "This is a terrific musical and it lends itself to a variety of great dance numbers."

The theatre camp will run from July 11 to 15 in River Hebert and July 18 to 22 in Amherst. Both camps are open for those in grades four to eight.

The organization will offer a camp from Aug. 8 to 12 for those in grades one to three. This camp will feature the musical This Old Gingerbread House.

"It's full of short, fun and snappy numbers. it will help introduce those younger students to singing, dancing and acting all at once," said MacLeod.

For more information or to register for any of the camps, contact Christine MacLeod at 251-2001 or Showcase Productions at 667-1900.
