SPRINGHILL – The number of households facing water shut offs today evaporated to 90, with 60 utility customers pouring in to pay their water bills in full.

Yesterday, the Town of Springhill announced it was moving ahead with shut offs on 150 homes that had yet to make arrangements on their water bills. Today, 90 households have until public works employees and backhoes arrive on their properties to pay their bills in full.

Employees have been directed to shut off the water once on sight and customers will have to pay a reconnection fee after paying their tax bill to have the service turned back on.
