PUGWASH - Thanks to help from the local high school art class, a farmer's market here has been turning some heads.

The Pugwash Farmer's Market on Durham Street unveiled its freshly painted fence on June 10, complete with artwork provided by local students, who were also on hand for the unveiling.

Market operator Jennifer Houghtaling said she was approached by Pugwash District High School art teacher Louise Cloutier, who was looking for a winter project for her students, and suggested they could do artwork for the fence.

"I thought it would be really cool," said Houghtaling. "We were building this fence with a grant from the municipality, and she said, why not paint something and attach it to the fence?"
