UPPER NAPPAN - A petition with almost 300 signatures was passed to the municipality opposing the change in garbage pick-up.

Ron MacNutt, councillor for District 5, presented the petition during Cumberland County’s first council session in May.

“In an effort to provide some information on the municipality’s decision to move to a three-stream waste pick-up system, I held a public information session in Wallace,” said MacNutt.

“At that time, we gave information and reasons why the municipality was going in that direction.”

Back in March, the county passed a motion to change the way household waste is disposed of.

Along with waste and recyclables being picked up, residents will be able to have a green cart for their compostables.
