AMHERST - The former Springhill cop arrested for stealing from the department and possessing drugs will return for plea next month.
Josh Demers appeared in court this morning and his counsel, Jim O'Neil requested an adjournment because he is still waiting on part of the disclosure.
Demers is facing charges of possession of marijuana, cannabis resin and cocaine, as well as theft of gas and marijuana from the Springhill Police Service, obstructing justice and breach of trust as a peace officer.
He will return for plea on June 27 at 9:30 a.m.
The incidents are alleged to have occurred between Aug. 22, 2010, and Jan. 22, 2011.
