AMHERST - People will sometimes put their own lives before those of their loved ones.
That's the story behind a play the students at Spring Street Academy are working on for later this month.
Ruth Nichols, producer and music teacher, said roughly 130 students from grades primary through six are participating in this year's performance - Mulan Jr., The Musical.
"We often do Disney shows just because the kids are so familiar with them and it was in the list of Disney showings," said Nichols.
"This year we put a big emphasis on multiculturalism in our school and thought it might be a good chance to do something from China."
The production begins at 7 p.m. on each of May 26 through 28. Tickets are available at the school, and will soon be available at Gordon's Ladies Wear in the Amherst Centre Mall.
