AMHERST - For 65 years it lay buried underneath St. Charles School, and then for 30 more it sat in storage. Now the 1915 time capsule is in the possession of Cumberland County Museum and Archives, and its artifacts are on display.

The Holy Family Parish of Amherst donated the items to the museum on March 17. Included are such things as photos, postcards, newspapers, student lists, medallions, blueprints and other memorabilia.

"We are honoured that the Holy Family Parish has chosen the museum as the new home of the St. Charles School time capsule," said museum manager/curator Shirley Nickerson. "It is not only a unique and truly welcomed addition to our museum and archives, it is also an important piece of the vibrant historical puzzle of Cumberland County."
