WENTWORTH VALLEY - Mike Straton’s 23 Alaskan sled dogs along with Rob Cooke’s 38 Syberian Huskies took turns giving people dog sled rides at the top of the Ski Wentworth Mountain throughout the week of March Break in the area.
This being the third year Stratton has offered the rides at Ski Wentworth, he says he plans to continue the tradition as long as people are interested.
“We’ve been booked solid all week, giving 12 rides per day. If the trend keeps up I’m considering extending the rides next year to include the spring break for surrounding universities,” Stratton said.
The love for the sport began in Ontario for Stratton who guided for dog sledding for a company there.
