AMHERST – Word has barely gotten out yet, but Cumberland Public Libraries chief librarian Beth Clinton is already pleased with the response to the organization’s new name and logo.

“It’s mostly people from within the library community at this point, because we haven’t really advertised it much publicly yet, but one person told me they liked the rocket ship,” said Clinton, laughing.

The “rocket ship” she refers to is what some people might see in the library’s new logo, while others might see a book, or a column. It’s all part of the excitement that comes with change, and Clinton hopes the re-branding of the library from its previous image as the Cumberland Regional Library will be noticed by as many as possible.
