PUGWASH - The 45-year-old man found dead in a Pleasure Cove Road home has been identified as Archie Lee Trenholm.
Just after 1 p.m. Tuesday, a 911 call was placed and members of the Pugwash RCMP detachment responded where the man's body was found.
Once they arrived on the scene, officers realized there had been a fire inside the home.
"The fire was just contained to the living room and kitchen area," said Const. Dal Hutchinson.
"We're waiting for the report from the fire marshal's office."
Hutchinson said the possible cause of the fire was smoking.
"It seems like the living room is where the fire had originated."
The cause of Trenholm's death has yet to be determined and his body has been transported to Halifax so an autopsy can be performed.
