AMHERST - A Nova Scotian musician is making his way into Amherst once again.
Dave Gunning, a singer and songwriter from Pictou County, will be live and in concert at Tantramar Theatre on March 11.
"It's a beautiful town and great little area," Gunning said while on the road in Ontario after stops in Memphis, Tennessee, and Ireland.
"I've played a lot of small towns in the province, but I haven't played in Amherst a whole lot but it certainly looks like it's going that way."
The 8 p.m. show will feature Gunning performing songs from his latest album, We're All Leaving.
He said he'll probably play some of the older songs many of his fans like to request, as well as some of the songs on his John Allan Cameron tribute album.
"I love playing there," Gunning said of the venue on Victoria Street downtown. "It sounds nice in there. I remember the last time I was there and there was a big crowd."
In the past few months, Gunning has performed a free summer show during the Concerts in the Park series and brought his Cameron tribute tour to the area.
George Douglas, who booked Gunning's performances, said the musician brings a "good, solid" show to the theatre.
"He makes you laugh and he makes you cry. We really like working together and he draws a pretty big crowd," Douglas said.
Tickets are available at Tantramar Theatre (667-7002) and Inglis Jewelers.
