AMHERST - Snowmobile operators are having the time of their lives with the amount of snow Mother Nature has dropped on Cumberland County this winter.
Cumberland RCMP Const. Dal Hutchinson said there are more snowmobilers out on the local trails this year because of the snow, which also means there are more trails available.
"Every year, we see fatalities in the province on the trails. We had one about two years ago near Pugwash, but in other counties throughout the province we hear about them almost every weekend," Hutchinson said.
To keep the trails a little safer, the RCMP and the Department of Natural Resources are pooling together their resources for patrols on the trails.
