PARRSBORO - Town staff here were taking advantage of frigid winter temperatures earlier this week to put the finishing touches on the community's newest recreational facility - an outdoor rink.
The new 40'x24' rink is part of the town's participation in Take the Roof Off Winter, a provincial initiative aimed at getting people more physically active during winter months, according to recreation director Tissy Bolivar.
The rink will be available for skating activity for people of all ages, particularly those who might not normally make use of the ice at the Lions Arena, according to Bolivar.
