PUGWASH - A gathering place for some of the world's brightest minds in the pursuit of peace is receiving a major funding boost from various sources, including $750,000 from the federal ACOA Innovative Communities Fund.

The funding, which includes $30,000 from the provincial Tourism, Culture and Heritage department, $50,000 from the Municipality of Cumberland County, $121,000 through CREDA and $50,000 from the Pugwash Park Commission, will support the second phase of an extensive renovation project to the National Historic Site.

The federal dollars will support restoration work to the interior and exterior of the facility and the development of key strategic plans to guide the development of the site.
