Cumberland Napa takes the championship in Bantam division
The Cumberland Napa bantam team was the only local team to win a championship game during the Cumberland County Minor Hockey Association’s house league tournament this past weekend. SPRINGHILL – A lone goal was the winner for the Cumberland Napa Bantam hockey team in their division at the local hockey association’s house league tournament.
Wrapping up the Cumberland County Minor Hockey Association season, Cumberland Napa was the lone local winner this past weekend, defeating Deippe-Memramcook Mudbugs, 1-0.
“The overall weekend for the tournament went well,” said tournament co-ordinator Richard Allen. “It was good to see Cumberland Napa with the championships.”
In the atom division, it was the Petitcodiac Flames defeating the Petitcodiac Blazing Flames, 3-1.
The only championship game to make it into overtime was the peewee division, with Truro edging past Shediac by a score of 1-0.
The final game of the tournament saw the Petitcodiac Inferno losing the midget division final to the East Hants Penguins. The Penguins defeated the Inferno, 4-3.
