AMHERST - To celebrate Cumberland County's heritage, what better way to start than with the Four Fathers of Confederation.
At the end of April, the Cumberland County Museum and Archives will celebrate Robert Berry Dickey, Sir Charles Tupper, Jonathan McCully and Edward Baron Chandler.
"These men played an important part in making Canada what it is today," said Shirley Nickerson, museum curator and manager. "An Evening with our Four Fathers is our way of showing honour to these great men."
An Evening with our Four Fathers is the museum's largest fundraiser and will happen this year on April 30, with dinner, entertainment and a live auction at the Amherst Lions Club on Electric Street.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner being served an hour later.
Participants will enjoy a fun-filled evening of socializing, entertainment and door prizes.
Proceeds from the dinner and auction will go directly to the daily operations of the museum.
"Remembering our heritage is an important part of who we are," said Amherst resident and museum volunteer Linda Reid.
"Without a past, there is no reference point for our present or our future."
Tickets for An Evening with our Four Fathers can be reserved by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or by calling 667-2561.
