Joggins youth to return for sentencing

Two young males will return to court next month after entering guilty pleas to attempted robbery.The males are charged with one count each of attempted robbery of the A&J Superette in Joggins, having their faces masked during the commission of an offence and possession of a weapon.One male entered guilty pleas to all three charges, while the other entered guilty pleas to the first two. The charge of possessing a weapon was withdrawn by motion of the Crown.

The males will return to court April 12 at 1:30 p.m., for sentencing.

They were charged after they allegedly entered the Joggins store Jan. 19 and demanded cigarettes.

When asked to remove their hoods and show identification, one of the accused pulled out a knife and banged it on the counter. The accused fled when the employee went to the phone to call police.
