WEDGEPORT, N.S. - The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has launched an investigation after a Nova Scotia fisherman went overboard and is presumed drowned.

The board says investigators have been deployed to Wedgeport, N.S., to assess what happened after 20-year-old Michael Jeffrey Doucette went missing on the weekend southwest of Yarmouth.

The Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Halifax launched a search around 7 p.m. Saturday after reports of a fisherman going overboard off a boat named "Row, Row.''

The search was called off the next day after crews scoured the waters for more than 14 hours.
