KAMLOOPS, B.C. - More than two dozen people are being treated for injuries following a nasty crash on a highway that connects British Columbia's coast and Interior.

Details remain unclear, although RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says the accident involved a bus, transport truck and several vehicles on the Coquihalla Highway.

According to a provincial government travel website, the collision took place near Inks Lake, which is close to Kamloops, B.C.

Ben Mittelsteadt of the BC Ambulance Service says the accident took place around 7:30 p.m. and eight ambulances were initially dispatched to the scene.

He says five people have been transported to hospital in Kamloops where they remain in critical condition.

Mittelsteadt says another 22 other patients with lesser injuries were being treated on scene, before being taken to hospital.
