PARRSBORO - Hollywood film star James Tupper has jumped on the boat endorsing the Bay of Fundy's candidacy in the New7Wonders of Nature campaign.
"It's exciting to have James on board with us, he's from Halifax and grew up around the Bay of Fundy so he really means it when he says he loves the area," Bay of Fundy Tourism manager Terri McCulloch said.
For those who watch the NBC primetime medical drama "Mercy" would better know Tupper as Dr. Chris Sands and according to a press release from McCulloch the television star is rated by US Weekly as one of 2009's sexiest stars and recently made TV Guide's sexiest men on TV list.
Additional television roles Tupper has had is "Jack," alongside real-life partner actress Anne Heche, in NBC's Men in Trees and a guest appearance alongside Christina Applegate in "Samantha Who."
"The New7Wonders of Nature is hosting a world tour promoting the 28 finalists. In the Fall the Bay of Fundy will take part in this world tour where events will be held around the Bay of Fundy," McCulloch said, adding the details of the world tour have yet to be finalized.
"It's amazing to be on the short list with places like the Amazon, and the other 26 locations worldwide," McCulloch said.
Bay of Fundy tourism is encouraging people to join their facebook site "Official Make Bay of Fundy A New7Wonder Group" or follow the status of the campaign on Twitter @bayoffundy.
"The facebook site has over 4,000 members. It's great. We are also encouraging people to vote and if you've already voted send along the message to vote to everyone you know," the tourism manager said.
