SPRINGHILL (Staff) - The Cumberland County Ross Refrigeration Cool Blues are encouraging season ticket holders to purchase their passes for the 2007-2008 season as soon as possible.
Pass holders who renew their passes by Sept. 27 are able to reserve the same seat they held last season. After that date, the seat will not be held if the season pass has not been purchased.
Season ticket prices are $80 for adults; $65 for students and seniors and $35 for pre-school children.

Hockey school payment

AMHERST (Staff) Final payment of registration and sweater pickup for the Fundy Hockey School will be held on Friday, Sept. 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Amherst Stadium.
Anyone requiring further information can contact registrar Roy Maltby at 667-9681, Vince Arbing at 667-8320 or Corrine Porter at 667-9434.
On-ice sessions will be under the direction of Jamie Matthews with 135 players taking part in this years school, the 24th annual. The school begins Saturday and runs through Tuesday, Oct. 2.
Cool Blues exhibition
SPRINGHILL (Staff) - The Cumberland County Ross Refrigeration Cool Blues have announced their pre-season exhibition schedule.
The Cool Blues will host the St. Margarets Bay Ducks on Friday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Sept. 16, the Cool Blues resume their rivalry with the East Hants Penguins, with a 4 p.m. start. Then on Sunday, Sept. 23, the Cool Blues play host to the Brookfield Elks at 7 p.m.
All games are at the Richard Calder Arena at the Dr Carson and Marion Murray Community Centre, Springhill.
On Sunday, Sept. 30, the Cool Blues will host the Kensington Vipers of the P.E.I. Junior Hockey League with a 7 p.m. start.
Porter Memorial Golf

AMHERST (Staff) - The inaugural Morgan Porter Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at the Amherst Golf Club on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Cost is $35 for Amherst Golf Club members and $65 for non-members. Entry fee is due at noon on Sept. 29.

House league coaches sought AMHERST (Staff) The Cumberland County Minor Hockey Association is seeking house league coaches for the upcoming season. As well, it is looking for volunteers interested in being scorekeepers at the Amherst Stadium, Oxford Arena and the Richard Calder Arena in Springhill. Midget AAA tryouts start Sept. 17 SPRINGHILL (Staff) - The D.W. Thompson Esso/Scotsburn Dairy Midget Ramblers will commene their 2007-08 season with tryouts here Monday, Sept. 17. The first session will run from 7:30 to 9 p.m. while a second session has been scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 8:45 to 10:15 p.m. at the Dr. Carson and Marion Murray Community Centre. Checking clinic, peewee tryouts SPRINGHILL (Staff) - All players entering peewee hockey for the first time are required to participate in a safety oriented checking clinic. The first session will take place on Monday, Sept. 17 from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. for all first-year peewee players wishing to tryout for provincial hockey. Anyone who does not attend may still go to tryouts but may not be able to participate fully, so it is highly recommended to attend. All participants must be reegistered to take part. Tryout dates for the CCMHA Peewee Ramblers are Sept. 21, 25 and 27, from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. All try outs are in Springhill and there will be a $5 charge.
