AMHERST - Amherst Aerials gymnasts got their season off to a good start last weekend in Charlottetown where they attended the Prince Edward Classic.
"We went in with certain expectations," Aerials gymnastics coach Michelle Landry said. "And they lived up to those expectations.
"We weren't far off from where I thought we'd be, so it's a good start to the season."
One surprise for the club was how well Felicia Landry did on the vault, where she finished fifth.
"One of Felicia's weak points is usually the vault but she placed well on the vault," Landry said.
Next up for the gymnasts is the Taiso Atlantic Cup, which they will attend Feb. 12.
Other results from the Prince Edward Classic were:
• Kyrsten Landry, who competes in Open 2, finished third in the vault, second on the bars, fourth on beam, second on floor and second overall.
• Jenna Porter, who also competes in Open 2, finished first in vault, fifth on bars, second on beam, fourth on the floor and third overall.
• Marissa Perley, who competes in Open 1, finished second in vault, second on bars, first on beam and second on floor.
• Carly Holloway, who also competed in Open 1, finished second on vault, third on bars, first on the beam and second on the floor.
• Felicia Landry, who competes in Novice 2, finished tenth on the beam.
