Sam Roberts Band to headline free Canada Day concert at Alderney Landing

DARTMOUTH - Haligonians will be crossing a bridge to somewhere special this Canada Day when the Sam Roberts Band takes the stage at Alderney Landing.

The Sam Roberts Band is the headliner for this year's Canada Day concert at Alderney Landing.

On Tuesday, HRM announced the popular Canadian singer-songwriter will headline the free annual concert in Dartmouth.

Other performances for the day include July Talk from Toronto, A Belle Game of Vancouver, and local favourite Ben Caplan & The Casual Smokers.

HRM said the day of activities begins with pancake breakfasts at Grand Parade and Alderney Landing, and the singing of the national anthem from Citadel Hill.

There will also be a Tattoo Parade through downtown Halifax, the Maple Lodge Farms Family Fun-Fest on the Halifax Common, and finally a fireworks show on the harbour at 10 p.m.
