TRURO – The month of March at the MacLellan and Moffatt Financial Gallery will feature the photographs of Stan Mizgala.
Mizgala, born in Montreal, is a founding member of Antigonish Photographers Exhibit and has been taking photographs for the past six decades. His photos are visual expressions of emotions and thoughts, mostly of empathy. They’re no longer about the trees, stones, people or streets, but instead express internalized reactions that are the formal subjects of the images.
The photographer’s inspiration comes from everyday encounters with his surroundings, whether perceived or imagined.
He is both a coach and an animator in ‘Light,’ a photography program of Heats & Hands at L’Arche Antigonish.
Mizgala’s exhibit will run in the gallery, located in the Marigold Cultural Centre, for the month of March with an opening reception set for March 9 at 6:30 p.m.
