CHARLOTTETOWN - Some of the special fishing and hunting adventures available in Prince Edward Island will be showcased later this month on a popular hunting documentary TV program.

Keith Beasley, host of popular hunting adventure show Canada in the Rough, poses with a large tuna he helped catch while filming an episode for the program in Prince Edward Island. The episode will start running at the end of the month on a number of specialty channels like the Outdoor Life Network.

Canada in the Rough will start airing Amazing Atlantic Adventures on March 29 on a host of channels including Outdoor Life Network and Sun News (for full listing visit www.canadaintherough.com).

Host Keith Beasley says filming, hunting and fishing in P.E.I. was a marvelous experience.

Local hunter Dave McLellan, who runs an outfitting business, served as guide for the show and Billy Paynter and his son Rielley opened their fields up for the show.

“The goose and duck hunting was tremendous and so neat to hunt with a father/son and our guide Dave’s decoy spread was actual stuffers, real taxidermied Canada geese,’’ said Beasley.

“First time we have hunted over them and they worked to perfection.’’

Beasley says Captain Jeff MacNeill helped cap off the adventure with a bluefin tuna trip, landing a “monster’’ in the process.

Canada in the Rough, now in its 10th season, is the most watched hunting documentary television program in Canada.

Seven networks carry the show in Canada. In total, the program airs in 22 countries.
