Showcase Productions summer camp co-coordinators, Kaitlyn Hyslop and Chris Spencer of Amherst are very excited to be back from university and kicking off their summer with Showcase’s Theatre Camp programs, which begin Monday.
AMHERST – Have you heard? Showcase Productions Society is offering their Summer Theatre camp programs for another four weeks this July and August.
Co-coordinators, Kaitlyn Hyslop and Chris Spencer of Amherst are very excited to be back from university and to be kicking off their summer with Showcase’s Theatre Camp programs again for their second year.
“We are very excited to meet all of our new campers this summer as well as see some familiar faces from last year’s camps,” says Hyslop.
There are two, two-week workshops being offered this summer by Showcase Productions.
“Our camps are very diverse in the sense that we not only teach or campers about acting, but we teach them about the production behind the scenes as well” says Spencer.
“ We like to include the kids in making pieces of the set and coming up with costume ideas so that they get to experience more than one aspect of theatre,” Hyslop says.
The first camp runs from July 8 to July 19 and is for children in Grades 4-7. The second camp being offered will run from August 5 until August 16 and is for children in Grades 2-4. No experience is necessary in order to participate. There will be a performance at the end of each two-week period, which will showcase the hard work that the campers have put into their production.
