KEMPTOWN – Another adventure hike is taking place along the Gully Lake wilderness area this weekend.

On Sunday, the Portage Trail in the Gully Lake wilderness area will be the site for hiking enthusiasts. The spot is 2.7 km from the Kemptown Road and registration begins at 10 a.m., with the walk getting underway at 10:30 a.m.

The event will be a guided hike, rain or shine, with the longest route being four km return. However, participants can turn around at any time to make a shorter route for children. All children must be accompanied by an adult and the trails are not stroller friendly.

Participants will be asked to sign a waiver and must stay with the group. The event will also include learning about the wilderness area with some prizes will be given out. Those taking part are reminded to bring water, high energy snacks, bug spray, sunscreen and wear sturdy footwear.
