AMHERST – Three local amateur hip-hop artists are asking for the support for their community for their latest musical endeavor: making a music video featuring some of the local hot-stops.

“We’re trying to show off things that the younger crowd probably understands because a lot of the stuff in this town, we find, is directed towards the older generations,” said Kyle ‘Biggz’ Estabrooks, one of the artists to be featured in the video. “We just want to get out and show off our talent and let people know that even though it’s a small town, we still have talent here.”

The video will include various crowd shots and different shots at establishments such as Teaser’s and Bambino’s Restaurant and other Amherst-centric activities while showcasing local talent.

“It’s basically about hip-hop artists in Amherst,” said Michael ‘MDB’ Dow. “In my verse, I talk about special places in Amherst, so it’s basically a song about our hometown.”

44 Productions out of Dartmouth Nova Scotia will be coming to Amherst to film the video. When completed, the video will be posted online on different social medias.

“They’re going to post it on Facebook and Youtube, different social media and just try to get it out there and get as many hits as possible,” said Dow.

Filming is set to begin Oct. 27 in different locations in Amherst. Dow said there will also be a concert at Teaser’s and they will be gathering different crowd shots.

“Hopefully the public will come out and support what we’re doing,” said Dow. “We need cool crowd shots. I think this is the first music video ever shot in Amherst, if I’m not mistaken.

“I’ve been waiting for this moment ever since I started rapping. From the moment I even thought about it, I hoped I would be able to shoot a music video in Amherst. I’m really excited to be able to represent my town.”

Filming will begin at 4 p.m. and the concert at Teaser’s will begin at 9:30 p.m., with a cover charge of $5. Everyone is invited to check out the creation of what may be Amherst’s first music video.
