Truro native Jane Archibald has a new piece of hardware to display on her shelf – a Juno award.

Archibald, a soprano with the Canadian Opera Company, won the classical album of the year: vocal or choral performance award for her album ‘Haydn Arias.’ The awards ceremony took place in Ottawa last week.

The album is a collection of arias from operas by Joseph Haydn. She recorded it with conductor Thomas Rösner and the Swiss Orchestre Symphonique Bienne.

The 35-year-old still calls Canada home, although most of her life these days is in Europe.
