‘Ambassador of Blues’ James Armstrong playing blues society show

WESTVILLE – Named the ‘Ambassador of Blues,’ James Armstrong is kicking off the Pictou County Blues Society 2012 season.

Armstrong will perform Saturday at the Whitetail Pub and Grill promoting his latest album, “Blues at the Border.”

Armstrong is an American blues musician who has been playing guitar since a young age. His father was a jazz guitarist and his mother was a blues singer. Armstrong formed his first band in high school and was touring the United States in his late teens.

He released his debut album “Sleeping with a Stranger” in 1995 and followed up with “Dark Night” in 1998 and “Got it Goin’ On” in 2000.

Armstrong’s latest album was released last December and he is touring North America in support.

The show starts at 9 p.m.
