SPARKS, Nev. - A pilot has successfully landed his single-engine plane on Interstate 80 east of Reno.
Nevada State Trooper Chuck Allen says the plane, carrying the pilot and two passengers, apparently experienced some mechanical difficultly.
It landed on the highway's westbound lanes after 10 a.m. PST. No injuries were reported.
Allen says it rolled to a stop about 100 feet from the Sparks Boulevard exit in east Sparks.
He says a detour off the interstate has been set up around the plane until federal investigators arrive.
He says it appears that the only damage was to the plane's tail.
