VANCOUVER - Canada has joined Russia and the U.S. in condemning Iran's nuclear ambitions.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper says he spoke with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin earlier today and says they both expressed their grave concerns about the danger the Iranian regime poses while building it's nuclear capabilities.
Iran's president declared earlier this week that his country has become a nuclear state, producing its first batch of enriched uranium.
Harper said during a visit to Vancouver that the international community must take co-ordinated action to stop the danger posed by Iran's nuclear activities.
The prime minister added that remains concerned for the Iranian people, who continue to suffer terrible rights abuses.
Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon said earlier he expects G8 ministers will focus on the Iranian nuclear issue when they meet in Quebec next month.
