HAWAIIAN GARDENS, Calif. - The son of Etta James says the R&B singer is making progress in fighting serious infections and has been moved to another hospital in Southern California.
Donto James says Thursday that his 72-year-old mother is improving and doctors have controlled infections that hospitalized her in Riverside about two weeks ago. He says she was transferred Tuesday to a medical centre in the Los Angeles suburb of Hawaiian Gardens.
Etta James is best known for the hit "At Last." She was hospitalized late last month with sepsis caused by a urinary tract infection.
She entered a treatment program to shake a dependency on painkillers and was hospitalized when her condition worsened. Donto James says his mother wants to get back to performing, but it's unclear when she'll be released.
