AMHERST - The schedule is set and now all that's needed are the registration numbers.
Preparations have begun for Back Again in 2010, this year's theme for those who attended a number of local schools up until 1975.
Pat Weatherbee of the 37-member organizing committee said the committee keeps putting together reunions for the memories.
"Everyone had such a good time at the others," she said, referring to reunions in 1980, 1985, 1989, 1995 and 2000.
Starting out at the St. Charles school in 1980, Norma Routledge said 523 attended the reunion. The reunion 10 years ago had double the numbers.
"We wanted to include all the students from all the area schools because back when we went, not everyone graduated. You could go to trade school with only your Grade 11, so if we had it for those that graduated, not everyone could go," Routledge said.
The reunion is open to those who attended Saint Charles Academy, Boromeo High and Commercial Schools until their closing or Acadia Street; West Highlands, Amherst Senior High and Amherst Regional High through June of 1975.
"We also interacted with others from the different schools because of living in a small town," added Weatherbee.
The reunion will take place July 23 to 25 at the Amherst Stadium. Sign-in will begin at 1 p.m., on July 23, and remain open until 3 p.m.
That evening, attendees can go for a wine and cheese social between 7 and 10 p.m. The bar at the Stadium will be open.
Saturday evening will feature a semi-formal dress dinner and dance with happy hour beginning at 6 p.m. The 7 p.m., dinner will feature shaved beef, barbecue chicken served with potatoes, vegetables and assorted salads, ice water, tea and coffee, with cake for dessert.
Attendees can put on their dancing shoes at 9 p.m., and dance the night away with The Usual Suspects, a Maritime band based out of Bridgewater.
Sunday will see the alumni get together for a 9:30 a.m., breakfast/brunch, with entertainment following at 11 a.m. The entertainment is open to the public as well for $2.
"People keep coming to these reunions to see other people. They don't necessarily come to see what's different from the reunion before, but they come home to see their friends and family," said Betty Ripley.
Registration is open until July 16.
