TRURO, N.S. - The projected cost of a new regional hospital in central Nova Scotia has increased again - by almost $25 million.
The total cost of the Truro facility is now expected to be almost $180 million.
Health Minister Maureen MacDonald says the increasing costs are a serious challenge for a deficit-ridden government.
But MacDonald says officials will work hard to bring the project to completion while keeping costs under control.
A local health official says tenders for the mechanical and electrical components of the project have come in way above budget.
When the project was announced in December 2005, the price tag was set at $104 million.
