EAST AMHERST - A 66-year-old Amherst man was transported to hospital with broken ribs and other injuries just after 6 p.m., Sunday after he was thrown from his snowmobile on the Tantramar Marsh.
Cumberland District RCMP community policing officer Const. Dal Hutchinson said the man's snowmobile struck an embankment on the marsh near the Tyndal Road trying to navigate a hill and he was thrown from the machine.
The call came in to the RCMP at 6:12.
The man was transported via another snowmobile to waiting EHS personnel who took the individual to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
Hutchinson also said alcohol did not appear to be a factor.
