FREDERICTON - A group representing about 4,000 nursing home workers in New Brunswick says its members have ratified a four-year contract with significant wage hikes.
The New Brunswick Council of Nursing Home Unions says the deal achieves wage parity with hospital workers who provide similar services in the province.
Some classifications will receive more than a 30 per cent increase, while the average wage hike over the life of the contract is 22 per cent.
The contract also includes improvements such as better job security.
Council members work in 46 New Brunswick nursing homes.
