TORONTO - Canadian chef Michael Smith is headed to "Iron Chef America" to do battle in kitchen stadium.
Food Network Canada says the host of "Chef Abroad" and "Chef At Home" will face off against New York celebrity chef Bobby Flay.
In an episode airing Jan. 31, the pair will concoct a four-star meal for a panel of judges using a secret ingredient.
Smith will be assisted by two sous chefs - retired Halifax-based navy chef Bill Pratt and Calgary restaurateur Paul Rogalski.
The judging panel will include restaurateur Donatella Arpaia, actor Antonio Sabato Jr. and food consultant Anya Fernald.
Smith is also heading to Vancouver for the Olympics and will lead a team of chefs in the Whistler Athletes Village.

This should be an interesting contrast in personalities as well as cooking skills. I look forward very much to seeing this show.

I will be interested in seeing this! I've watched both shows and while Smith's food looks good it tastes horrible. I've tried his recipes and I've followed them to a t . I will watch just to see the faces of the judges as they try his concotion.
