Toronto-bound flight lands safely in N.S. after pilot reports windshield crack

HALIFAX - A Toronto-bound flight was diverted to Halifax on Thursday night after the aircraft's pilot reported a cracked windshield.
Ashley Barnes, a spokeswoman for the Halifax International Airport Authority, says Air Canada flight 695 reported the problem around 6:40 p.m. AT.
The flight, which originated in St. John's, N.L., landed safely at the airport about 20 minutes later.
There were no injuries.
The temporarily stranded passengers boarded another aircraft and continued their trip to Toronto around 10:30 p.m.
