MOUNT CARMEL, N.L. - Police say a Newfoundland man is dead after losing control of his all-terrain vehicle, going over an embankment and plunging 30 metres to the ground.
The 60-year-old victim was driving out of his driveway in Mitchell's Brook when the mishap occurred on Wednesday.
Police say the ATV crossed the road before hitting the shoulder and going airborne, dropping to a rocky shoreline.
An ambulance took the man to hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police have not released the name of the man, who was not wearing a helmet.
The investigation continues.
