Quiet weekend for police

AMHERST - Amherst police reported a quiet holiday weekend with 15 calls for assistance.
Complaints included suspicious persons, theft, damage to property and two assaults.
Police also issued a number of Motor Vehicle Act violations and conducted numerous check stops with Liquor Control Act tickets issued for having open liquor.
