HALIFAX - Halifax Mayor Peter Kelly says he's ready to take another swim in the harbour once a damaged sewage treatment plant is up and running again.
Kelly challenged reporters to join him as he took them on a tour of the wastewater treatment facility in the downtown area today.
The plant is in the second and final stage of recovery and is expected to be back on line by spring.
The equipment suffered serious damage last winter when a local power failure caused wastewater to flood the building.
Most of the $11 million in repairs will be covered by insurance.
