WESTFIELD, N.B. - A cable ferry with 17 people on board broke loose at the Westfield crossing on New Brunswick's St. John river today.
Crewmen were able to drop an anchor after the cable snapped to keep the vessel from being carried away by the current.
An official with the Department of Transportation says everyone on board was brought to shore without problems.
The ferry is back on shore and inspectors will go over it to determine what happened.
