ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Police in Newfoundland have released a forensic facial reconstruction and are offering up to $50,000 for help to solve a cold-case murder.
A skull was discovered in Conception Bay South near St. John's by two men who were hiking in May 2001.
More than eight years later, police and forensic experts have not been able to identify to whom the skull belongs.
But they say it is of a white man with dark and curly shoulder-length hair, born between 1955 and 1960.
The rest of the man's remains have not been found.
A strand of hair was used to estimate that he died between 1994 and 1997.
Analysis of a wisdom tooth indicates the man grew up in Quebec, southern Ontario or Atlantic Canada.
Anyone with information is asked to call their local police or Crime Stoppers.
