HALIFAX - Members of Halifax city council are getting a pay hike.
The 23 councillors get a 2.8 per cent increase while the mayor's salary goes up 3.4 per cent.
Prior to the hike, councillors earned $65,500 a year while Mayor Peter Kelly made about $132,000 annually.
Kelly says the raises are reasonable, considering they are more or less in line with increases unionized city workers are getting.
