PARRSBORO - As of last spring motorists have been greeted by a Mother's Against Drunk Driver's (MADD) sign as they enter Parrsboro on Highway 2.
"Parrsboro Regional High School student Andrew McCulley played an instrumental role in the sign being placed at that location," said Const. Dal Hutchinson of the Parrsboro RCMP Detachment.
Hutchinson also said another student, Eric Tibbetts, along with McCulley have been active members of the Cumberland County Chapter of MADD.
According to Hutchinson the pair have volunteered time at check stops with RCMP and will be doing so with Amherst and Springhill Police Departments in the future.
Another member of the Parrsboro RCMP, Const. Terry Brown, said the RCMP are attempting to reach national president of MADD Margaret Miller to arrange for a presentation at the Parrsboro high school in the near future.
Both McCulley and Tibbetts have been busy advocates for MADD and taking that dedication one step further they recently held a barbeque at Harvest Fest in Parrsboro on Oct. 17 raising $200 that was donated to Safe Grad 2009 at Parrsboro Regional High School.
