ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - An Air Canada flight en route to Newfoundland touched down safely today after lighting indicators initially showed the landing gear could be unsafe.
A St. John's airport official says the pilot declared an emergency and circled once, and when he came back around his landing gear was "showing good."
Emergency response teams stayed in position until the plane landed shortly after 9 a.m. without incident.
The flight originated from Halifax and had 87 people on board.
