DIGBY, N.S. - The impact of heavy rain on a Nova Scotia wastewater treatment plant has led to another shellfish ban in the Annapolis Basin.
Federal officials have closed a part of the basin from just west of Clementsport to an area near Victoria Beach, including the Digby Gut.
Officials say there's been an increase in levels of bacterial contamination.
The ban includes oysters, clams, mussels and quahogs and it will remain in effect until further notice.
The notice of closure cites the Digby treatment plant.
